The Center gave me the initial opportunity to get back on the right track, to recognize that I had some potential, and to lead a life that was aiming toward success, fulfillment, and happiness.

—Thomas Lohwasser, Alumnus

Our Vision

To commemorate our 60th anniversary, we at Hanna Boys Center have laid plans to refurbish and expand our campus for generations to come. Facilities are only one aspect of a boy's successful treatment, yet they are critical to our ability to serve a growing base of teens for whom Hanna is both home and alma mater.

Hanna is, however, more than a place for troubled youth. We are also a resource for families and alumni, and a host for civic and business activities that support our mission. In fact, we have a long tradition of sharing our facilities with our Sonoma Valley neighbors. We offer our conference space, tennis courts, swimming pool, and practice fields to local organizations as a way of building awareness of our program and involving Hanna boys in the community.

Our Campus Development Campaign seeks to raise funds for the first phase of our long-term master plan, which addresses Hanna's many needs and constituents. It was developed in collaboration with Corlett, Skaer and DeVoto Architects beginning in 2007 and approved by Hanna's Board of Trustees in late 2009.

The first phase begins at our entrance and extends to the center of campus. It combines renovation and new construction in a style inspired by Hanna's beautiful Our Lady of Fatima Chapel. These initial improvements will be visible from Arnold Drive, the artery that runs north and south past the property, thus presenting a more inviting public face. While accommodating the day-to-day needs of residents, they also will make gathering at Hanna more comfortable, efficient, and enjoyable for all.
